The plaza’s multi-level “FoodParc” is restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow’s showcase of a series of gourmet stands and stalls, each a culinary destination on its own. From a special blended burger (No. 7 Hanger Blend) with gourmet bacons to imaginative dim sum to unique pizza bianca stacks and wraps, some of NYC’s most renowned culinary masters promise a wide variety of global offerings. Or step off the plaza into Eventi’s outstanding Bar Basque, a multi-sensory feast, complete with outstanding service, expertly crafted cocktails and an exceptional Basque menu. The futuristic setting, created by conceptual designer Syd Mead, is as delightful as the cuisine.
Location
Eventi is located in what is being called North Chelsea, just blocks from Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building. Chelsea is a neighborhood beloved for its dozens upon dozens of art galleries, but it’s also chock full of great boutiques, eateries and coffee shops. Situated on Sixth Avenue and 30th Street, Eventi is separated from the insanity that is Penn Station and, a few blocks above it, Times Square – but finds itself in a bit of an odd place. North Chelsea isn’t a defined Manhattan neighborhood, and the streets of the area are cluttered with button sellers, wholesale importers and Garment District purveyors. That being said, there’s always a new “it” neighborhood in New York, and with Eventi’s event-focused messaging and great amenities, there’s no reason why North Chelsea can’t become the latest destination. All it takes is one great hotel to make a neighborhood good – soon the restaurants, boutiques and bars will follow. In the meantime, the hotel is centrally located, close to tourist attractions, near to public transportation, brand new and beautiful.
